SC Next 2025: Travel Information

SigmaCamp organizes a charter bus service from John F Kennedy Airport to the site of the camp in Sharon, CT and back for campers who are flying without parents. The travel time between JFK and the camp is about 2.5 hours, depending on traffic. We need to make arrangements early to provide reasonable transportation. If you would like to request transportation please fill out the Transportation form on CampDoc (in the Health Profile) by June 1. If you need to request transportation after June 1, a late fee will be added.

If you are requesting transportation, please also register for the correct transportation Add-Ons through CampDoc (such as Transport to Camp and Overnight Stay and Transportation to Airport) so you can pay for them as well.

Transportation To Camp:

Staff will meet students at JFK airport, NY, on Saturday, August 9, 2025 between 2-6 PM and accompany them on the bus to camp. This service costs $120 and includes transportation and an extra overnight stay at camp. Note that camp starts on Sunday, August 10, 2025. 

Transportation From Camp

 Staff will bring students to JFK airport on August 17, 2025 by 1pm and will put them on flights departing between 3-6 PM. The cost is $100 for return transportation. Sigma Camp staff will assist the campers with check-in and supervise children flying as unaccompanied minors as required by the airlines.  

We will get back to you ASAP to optimize arrival/departure times to minimize the amount of wait time at the airport. We will communicate with all parents requesting transportation in order to consolidate the number of flight for campers flying to and from the same location. To facilitate flight arrangements, please check that you allow us to share your contact information with parents sending their children from the same location in the form on CampDoc.
 

If these times are impossible for you, you will need to arrange for private transportation (possibly shared with other families). Please indicate your choices in the form on CampDoc, and we will get back to you.
 

It is the parent's responsibility to check the airline requirements for the travel of unaccompanied minors and to fill out the required forms. For international travel, more paperwork may be needed (depending on your country); make sure you check all the official rules and regulations.
 

Finally, only for campers who are flying, we also offer a bedding set (bed-in-a-bag): pillow, pillow cover, blanket, blanket cover, sheet.
The cost of the set is $45 and can be purchased on CampDoc through Add-Ons.
